The creation of the legal institute is aimed at building a classical system of legal education at the State University of Economics and Technology. The training of lawyers is practice-oriented and based on modern requirements for legal education. The Institute trains specialists for legislative and judicial authorities, local self-government bodies, public employment services, justice institutions, prosecutor's offices, notaries and advocates, internal affairs, legal services of enterprises and organizations.
The Law Institute also trains personnel of local self-government bodies and executive bodies, that is, public servants.
The Institute also trains practicing psychologists, the only ones in Kryvyi Rih. Psychology students actively undergo internships with practicing psychologists and provide psychological assistance to various segments of the population, especially those affected by the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Since 2022, the Institute has expanded and started training for students-historians in the specialty "Secondary education. History and Law". After all, the study of history is an important component of the development of society.
On the basis of the institute, there is an active Legal Clinic, where students, under the guidance of lecturers-curators, provide free legal assistance to residents of the city and region and develop legal education topics, forming the necessary skills of a future lawyer and increasing the legal awareness of the population. This method of learning makes it possible to put into practice the knowledge gained during classroom classes and to increase one's professional activity.
The professor-teaching staff of the institute, in its majority, are practicing lawyers, advocates, employees of legal services, psychologists, officials of local self-government, which enables them to familiarize students with future activities using practical examples from their own practice.
